Η κυνική αυτή ομολογία ανήκει στον πρώην υπουργό Εξωτερικών των ΗΠΑ την περίοδο της τουρκικής εισβολής στην Κύπρο Χέντρι Κίσιγκερ.
Τα πιο πάνω ανέφερε το 1994 προς κορυφαίους του πολιτικού κόσμου και δημοσιεύθηκαν στις 12.2.1997 από την «Turkish Daily News».

Το ερώτημα είναι γιατί δεν χαράσσουμε και εμείς μια μακροχρόνια πολιτική ενδυνάμωσης της χώρας, βιομηχανία κυρίως, για να φτάσουμε σε επίπεδα Γερμανίας, Γαλλίας, Αγγλίας, ώστε ο λόγος μας να έχει μεγαλύτερη επιρροή και κύρος.
Πάντα ψάχνουμε να βρούμε υποστηρικτές ενώ θα μπορούσαμε να στηριζόμαστε στη δική μας δύναμη, αν χαράξουμε μια τέτοια στρατηγική.
